It offers radio frequency (RF) capable and voice-enabled universal remote control products; and low-power RF and energy-harvesting microcontrollers, and embedded and cloud software to video service providers and consumer electronics original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), as well as distributes a portfolio of replacement remote controls, free-to-air antennas, and television and soundbar wall mounts directly to retailers. The company also provides wireless and wired controllers, smart thermostats and connected peripherals for sensing and smart energy management to OEM customers, hotels, utilities, and system integrators; proprietary and standards-based RF wireless remote controls and sensor for residential security, safety, and home automation applications; and integrated circuits, on which its software and universal device control database are embedded to OEMs, video service providers, smart home dealers, and private label customers. It offers software, firmware, and technology solutions that enables devices, such as smart TVs, hybrid set-top boxes, and other consumer electronic and smart home devices to wirelessly connect and interoperate within home networks; and cloud-enabled software for firmware update provisioning and digital rights management validation services to consumer electronics brands, as well as licenses intellectual property to OEMs and video service providers. It has operations in the United States, the People's Republic of China, rest of Asia, Europe, Latin America, and internationally. Universal Electronics Inc.
